Aw poor penguin. We had to get a ton of the chew bones, get the really durable kind. Also, Bitter Apple works on things like furniture. For a non-chemical way to deter your new family member, spank the item she is after, like shoes, socks, pillows, etc. I even spanked the Christmas tree, while yelling bad tree - it works well. Sounds crazy though, I know. My husband laughed at me lots of times for doing this.
