Hot Chocolate recipe

Inexplicably hot chocolate recipes are cropping up on mommy blogs left and right. Inexplicably? I suppose there is an explanation - one that includes most of this fine nation being buried under snow while here in SA we are "chilly" in the mid-seventies.

Anyhoo...

I have decided to post my recipe for hot chocolate right here as well.

Here it is.

Hold on to your hat.One tablet + 4 cups of milk = spicy mexican hot chocolate!

(mom, don't have a stroke, let me explain)

In my former life as a midwestern girl I, like many of you, rather enjoyed making hot chocolate from scratch. But in San Antonio, there are many mexican traditions that are just freaking awesome - like Abuelita (and mexican pop music).

To add that "made from scratch" feel to it, most of the time I make whipped cream with Haitian vanilla to top it off. And of course lately, we have also stirred our hot chocolate with candy canes. It is still relatively instant as there is almost no measuring or pouring required (save the milk). But if you can get a hold of some, you should try it and then tell me if you still prefer Caucasian hot chocolate.
